The Sling was Early mans first projectile weapon.  I’ve read that in skilled hands a projectile can be slung over 1500 feet at speeds exceeding 250 miles per hour.  The sling is still widely used in South America and the Middle East.  Remember the Biblical story of David and Goliath.   For hunting, slings are best used on birds and small animals.  For me it is used in hunting the elusive cardboard box.

Chris at www.paleoarts.net  sells some really beautiful slings. Check em out.
